Job Summary

Duties shall include, but not be limited to, sourcing opportunities, negotiating and issuing term sheets and assisting in the preparation of internal memoranda for deal approval. It will also be necessary to work with Underwriting to provide a clear understanding of the transaction structure as well as borrower expectations and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing new relationships and also fostering existing relationships

  • Sourcing new transactions

  • Assisting in the initial pre-screening and structuring

  • Communicating with contacts on a regular basis regarding deal status

  • Working closely with Underwriting and Closing on establishing the proper structure and lending parameters

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Information Program (CIP), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA, state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong technical and documentation skills

  • Relationship-building capabilities

  • Experienced and knowledgeable in originating SBA 7a and SBA 504 loan products

  • Commercial real estate focused and has an established referral network of commercial real estate brokers, commercial real estate developers, accountants, and commercial banking relationships

  • Ability to generate 65% to 75% of loan volume in immediate markets (generally within 4 hours drive time from their office)

  • Possesses a level of credit skills to determine an appropriate loan structure and is able to assess credit risk of a potential customer

  • Ability to learn and embrace technology that is utilized in the organization process

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting

  • 6 – 8 years of similar work experience with a finance company/bank

  • Experience and judgement in related areas to plan and accomplish goals

Salary Range: $100,000.00 - 120,000.00 USD; Final salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with geographic/market data.
